My child is 16 years old, do they have to stay with a host family?

Students under 18 years are required to stay with a host family or organize their own accommodation.

Can I rent an apartment if I am not a student in your school?

The accommodation service is only available to our students.

Are there any locals living in the shared apartments?

No, only our students stay at the apartments.

How many people I will share the shared apartment with?

Up to five students share one apartment. Usually, shared apartments have 3 or 4 rooms: 1 twin or double room and 3 individual rooms.

What would you recommend me when it comes to accommodation - homestay or shared housing?

We advise people who choose to stay in a SHARED APARTMENT that they should be adaptable and prepared to live with other people from different nationalities and cultures and to be respectful of their way of living and believing. The tenants are collectively responsible for keeping the whole apartment clean and tidy. What type of accommodations do you provide for groups?

For groups, we recommend staying in a hotel or Aparthotel where 2 or 3 students can share a studio.

Do the rooms in the accommodation have air conditioning?

No, the accommodation doesn’t have air conditioners. Most of the houses and hotels in Puerto de la Cruz do not have air conditioning because we have a mild climate (average of 23ºC) and very few really hot or cold days.

Who can I talk to if there is any kind of problems or questions?

Please refer to our staff at the school reception.

Will there be someone welcoming me even if I arrive late at night?

You can collect your shared apartment key at any time. Host families welcome their students as well, no matter the time.

How do I get the key to my apartment?

Shared apartment: If you arrive on your own, there is a meeting point to collect the key. If you have booked a transfer for your arrival, the driver will give you the apartment key. Homestay: The host family will provide the key. In either case, we will send you all the information you need prior to your arrival.

Are meals included in the price?

In shared apartments, only self-catering is available. The price for a homestay includes breakfast or half board.

What is the best time to arrive at my accommodation?

Check-in is on Sundays after 2 PM. Check-out is on Saturday before 12:00 PM. However, one extra night before Sunday or after Saturday can be booked on request.

How far away is the accommodation from the school?

That depends on the type of accommodation. Most of the accommodations are situated within 5 to 20 minutes walking distance from the school.
